SEinCPPS Challenges

Welcome to this survey!
With the increasing prevalence of Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPSs), the development and operation of such systems become more complex. Therefore, we encourage you to share your professional experiences as expert in your field.

What is a Cyber-Physical Production System?
In a Cyber-Physical System, physical and software components are deeply intertwined. Each component can operate on different spatial and temporal scales, exhibiting multiple and distinct behavioral modalities, and interact with each other in myriad ways that change with context.

CPPSs, like metallurgical plants or manufacturing plants, reflect the characteristics of Cyber-Physical Systems in the production domain. They build ubiquitous systems that autonomously interact with their environments and flexibly manufacture various products based on customer demands.

Who are we?
We are researchers engaged in the Workshop Series and Community on Software Engineering in Cyber-Physical Production Systems (https://secpps.github.io/) (SECPPS). As a group, we discuss the latest software engineering trends and approaches to designing software for CPPSs.

What can you do to contribute to our research?
Participating in this survey will help advance the CPPSs research area.
It takes an average of 10 minutes to complete the survey.

Participation in the survey is voluntary. The survey is anonymous. Socio-demographic data such as gender etc. is collected solely for the purpose of evaluating the statements in a heterogeneous group. No attempts will be made to draw conclusions about specific individuals from the information you provide. The evaluation results will only be published in anonymized form (in tables and/or graphs), so that it is not possible to draw conclusions about individuals. Please do not enter any personal data in the free text fields, not even from third parties.
